Atlas Learning Group partners with school leaders, districts, and organizations to strengthen leadership capacity and improve student outcomes. Our approach combines relationship-centered coaching with evidence-based strategies that deliver measurable results.
The Atlas Learning Group consultants have extensive experience in TK-12 general and special education. Dr. Sean Joyce, Ph.D., our CEO, has over 45 years in public education—eighteen years as a classroom teacher and 28 years as a public-school administrator, including fourteen years as a superintendent and twelve years as a school principal. He holds single-subject, multiple-subject, and special-authorization teaching credentials, along with an administrative services credential. Our services include interim district leadership, coaching and mentoring, and executive search support for school and district leaders.

Strategic Advisory — We help districts and boards align vision to actionable strategy, ensuring goals translate into classroom impact.
Leadership Coaching — One-on-one and team coaching that builds capacity, strengthens culture, and supports leaders through relationship-centered leadership, change, and sustainability. Coaching supports district and site administrator roles, and we are additionally skilled in teacher-to-teacher, peer-to-peer coaching models.
Interim Administrator Supports — Able to assume district and site administrator roles and positions on an interim or short-term temporary basis.
Professional Development — Our workshops equip educators with tools for equity, literacy, and instructional leadership that can be applied immediately.
Data & Evidence — We design systems to track progress, measure growth, and communicate outcomes clearly to stakeholders.
About
Dr. Sean Joyce, Ph.D., is a former superintendent and lifelong educator with 19 years of experience leading schools and districts after teaching 18 years in grades 6-9. He earned his Ph.D. in Educational Leadership in 2008 and has guided teams through transformative improvements in student achievement, equity initiatives, and community engagement. Known for his personal, hands-on approach, Sean combines human connection with data-driven strategies to help schools and organizations succeed.
He has presented nationally at:

He also served as founding Head of School and Executive Director of the International Baccalaureate School at Mesa del Sol in New Mexico, and retired as Superintendent of Lakeside Joint School District after more than six years. Sean founded Atlas Learning Group to continue his mission: supporting leaders, developing professionals, and ensuring every student has access to excellent learning opportunities.
